When your I.T. equipment fails, productivity falls through the floor. You may have an “internal guru” who can fix most issues and save you a service call, but this situation is different. Once they can’t fix the problem, it’s time to call in the big guns over at I.T. Support. They arrive (hopefully on time), and fix the issue. As you thank them for fixing the issue, they hand you an invoice that makes your stomach sink. You pay the bill and hope it doesn’t happen again.
With Managed Services, the previous scenario is a distant memory. We are partners in your business, working everyday to ensure your I.T. equipment has maximum uptime. And when you do need support, you and your employees can call us anytime without worrying about an additional cost to your business’ bottom line. It’s the way I.T. support should be.
We’ve been there: You’re using your computer and everything seems to be working without any issues—then it happens—your network goes down, or your screen goes blue with error codes. You might reset your router or computer to temporarily mask the problem, but we all know a quick fix won’t remedy the bigger issues that still exist. That’s where we come in.
We are here to fix and repair any and all technical issues you experience, both hardware and software. Our experienced technicians are passionate about making sure your technology works the way it’s supposed to, and ensure you will be 100% satisfied with the results. If your computer isn’t working like it should, feel free to give us a call, or bring it by our office for a complimentary evaluation.
Whether you need your desktop or laptop computer repaired, require virus removal services, a tune up of your computer, data recovery services, or backup services, ACS is here to serve all of your computer repair and data needs.
We can troubleshoot, diagnose, build, service, network, maintain and repair all PC & Laptop Hardware & Software (Compaq, DELL, HP, Gateway, Sony, IBM, eMachine, Acer, PowerSpec, Alienware etc.). We will respond promptly and we’ll have you back in working order either the same day or the next day in most cases, because we know how important is for you to have your PC running.
In an age when tablets, smartphones, and laptops provide more convenience, desktops offer more power. It’s not as easy to bring your desktop to a computer repair technician to get it serviced, so we tend to ignore minor warning signs that something could be wrong.
However, when your desktop crashes and won’t boot up, you could feel frustrated and lost. It’s as though you suddenly have an oversized paperweight.
Don’t delay. Your desktop computer is still a valuable tool designed to provide you the right software, connectivity, and power to do the jobs that need to get done. When you have a problem with your desktop computer, it’s not obsolete and help is just a simple phone call away.
When your laptop needs to be repaired, who you call can make all the difference in the world. Some computer repair shops have limited experience with certain operating systems or models. Others are simply overwhelmed and will take weeks or even longer to get your laptop back to you.
Even others ship your laptop out to be repaired. If you want to know that your laptop is going to remain in our shop and will be repaired by local, experienced professionals, call on ACS.
PC Tune-Up
No matter what kind of PC you use, there are always going to be problems that arise. Even if you rely on the most expensive anti-virus, anti-spam programs, and even if you have a secure firewall, problems will still arise.
The more use that your PC gets, the slower it’s going to begin operating. There are certainly some things that you could do to avoid some of the common issues, but like a car, every few thousand miles, it’s a good idea to have a tune-up.
What a PC Tune Up Can Do for Your Computer
The most common problem that PCs experience today are sluggish or slow operations. Every website that you visit, every form that you fill out, and every program that you open will place cookies and other tidbits of information on your computer. That’s more information that the computer needs to gather every time that you go back to that website or open that other program.
A PC tune up will go through your computer’s files and system registry and remove unnecessary cookies, malware, and other files that are redundant or unnecessary. It will also combine files into one location when possible (disk defragmentation) and that will the system retrieve files more quickly.
A Cracked or Broken Laptop Screen Can Happen Anytime
No matter how well you take care of your laptop, no matter how careful you are when you take it out, open it up, and put it away, it’s still possible that the screen can become cracked or otherwise damaged.
When that happens, it can make using the computer almost impossible, depending on how severe the crack is and where it occurred on the screen.
Don’t just ‘deal with it’ when it comes to your laptop screen. Have it repaired by an experienced technician.
One of the most common problems with laptops that do not involve the operating system and internet issues are broken DC jacks. If you or someone you know has a laptop that isn’t charging, it might not be the battery or the adapter; it may very well be the DC jack on the side or in back and if so, it needs repair.
When your desktop PC, laptop, or even your tablet suddenly refuses to boot up, or the files that you had on a secondary drive no longer show up when you view them in the Explorer window, it can be a sinking feeling.
The moment that you realize that you might have just lost all of your valuable information and files because the hard drive crashed can cause you to panic.
Relax and Remain Calm
The most important thing to do when you notice that there is an issue with your hard drive is to remain calm. When you panic, you begin to do things out of desperation. That can cause more damage or problems for recovery.
Is your computer running very slowly? A common symptom of a virus is much slower than normal computer performance. However, there can be other reasons for slow performance, including a hard disk that needs defragmenting, a computer that needs more memory (RAM), or the existence of spyware or adware. If you can answer “yes” to any of the following questions, your computer might have a virus.
Are you getting unexpected messages, or are programs starting automatically? Some viruses can cause damage to Windows or some of your programs. The results of this damage might include messages appearing unexpectedly, programs starting or closing automatically, or Windows shutting down suddenly.
Is your modem or hard disk working overtime? An e‑mail virus works by sending many copies of itself by e‑mail. One indicator of this is that the activity light on your broadband or external modem is constantly lit; another is the sound of your computer’s hard disk continually working. These are not always symptoms of a computer virus, but when combined with other problems, can indicate a virus infection.
Spyware is a type of software that is installed on your computer to watch and record your activity. Some types of spyware record your keystrokes and information that you type into websites or other programs and then use that information for targeted advertising or identity theft. These programs can be installed on your computer in many ways but often they are hidden inside of software such as free games, screen savers, or animated cursors.
Here are some signs that your computer might be infected with spyware:
You notice new toolbars, links, or favorites that you did not intentionally add to your web browser.
Your home page, mouse pointer, or search program changes unexpectedly.
You type the address of a specific website into your web browser, but you are taken to a completely unrelated website.
You see pop-up ads, even if your computer is not connected to the Internet.
Your computer suddenly starts running more slowly that it usually does. Not all computer performance problems are caused by spyware, of course, but spyware can cause a noticeable change in processing speed.
